Walleye Fishing
Guides Fontana, Glenville and Nantahala Lakes
Guided trips to catch walleye and muskee
on Fontana, Glenville and Nantahala Lake.
The common name, "walleye," comes
from the fact that this fish's eyes reflect light like a cats. This
is the result of a light-gathering layer in the eyes called the
tapetum lucidum which allows the fish to see well in low-light
conditions. Walleyes can grow up to 30 inches and weigh as much as
25 lbs, but the state record in North Carolina is only 13 lbs 8 oz.
caught on Lake Chatuge August 16,1986 with an old faithful spoon.
