Smoky Mountain Streams

The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission has an interactive fishing access map for anglers looking for a place to fish. The map allows you to view public fishing areas and NCWRC managed trout streams throughout the state.  The viewer can search for public sites based on the type of access they are interested in (i.e. piers, boat ramps, universal access, etc.), the species they are interested in, access sites within a specific county, sites within a specific distance from their location, or by waterbody name.   • Graham County NC Trout Streams and Stocked Streams. This includes areas such as Robbinsville and Stecoah: Big Snowbird Creek, Calderwood Reservoir, Cheoah Reservoir, Franks Creek,  Long Creek, Mountain Creek, Panther Creek, Santeetlah Creek, Sawyer Creek, Stecoah Creek, Tulula Creek, West Buffalo Creek, Yellow Creek, Big Snowbird Creek,  Indian Creek,  John's Branch, Little Buffalo Creek, Santeetlah Creek,  Sassafras Creek,  Slick Rock Creek,  South Fork Squally Creek,  Squally Creek, and Wright Creek
  • Jackson County NC Trout Streams and Stocked Streams. This includes areas such as Sylva, Dillsboro, Glenville, Cullowhee, and Cashiers: Balsam Lake, Bear Creek Lake, Buff Creek, Cullowhee Creek, Greens Creek, Savannah Creek, Scott Creek, Tuckasegee River, Tanasee Creek Lake, West Fork Tuckasegee River, Wolf Creek Lake, Chattooga River, Gage Creek, Needle Creek, North Fork Scott Creek, Sols Creek, Tanasee Creek, Whitewater River, Wolf Creek
  • Macon County NC Trout Streams and Stocked Streams. This includes areas such as Franklin, Highlands, and Nantahala: Nantahala River, Queens Creek Lake, Burningtown Creek,  Cullasaja River, Ellijay Creek, Cliffside Lake, Cartoogechaye Creek,  Tessentee Creek, and Big Creek.
  • Swain County NC Trout Streams and Stocked Streams. This includes areas around Bryson City: Alarka Creek, Calderwood Reservoir, Cheoah Reservoir, Connelly Creek, Deep Creek, Nantahala River, Forney Creek, Hazel Creek, Noland Creek, Oconaluftee River.
